Elections are March 7th in The Cube's meeting rooms from 6:30-8:30pm.
The FAHA Board is looking for people who are passionate about the direction our association is headed and have time, skills, ideas and energy to give.
We have the following candidates running
My family and I reside in the big town of Wharton, Oh. My husband, Steve, and I have been married for almost 18 years and have one child, Cale, who is 10. He has been a member of FAHA for three years and is currently playing for the 2016-17 Squirt Travel team. I am a 19 year employee with Marathon Petroleum Company based in Findlay. My current role is to support the trading, scheduling, marketing and accounting organizations with their various tasks in our business application called RightAngle. This includes setting up new users, customers, vendors, reporting functions and many other tasks that come up from day to day. I have recently been selected to assist a project team in creating and implementing new procedures for a specific line of business that is currently not supported by RightAngle. Outside of work, and when we’re not traveling to hockey games, my family and I like to drag race cars. My husband and I both race at local tracks throughout the April – October season. Other hobbies include scrapbooking, spending time with family and friends and attending as many Columbus Blue Jackets games as we possibly can. Go Jackets! At the beginning of the 2016-17 season, I was chosen to be the team’s manager. My responsibilities included all game and scrimmage scheduling, updating Sports Engine, making hotel reservations, organizing team meals, keeping team parents engaged in the activities of the team and providing support to both parents and players when needed. I also assisted other FAHA volunteers with registering players for IP, equipment hand-outs and returns. My “why” for running for the board is simple. I want to be a part of something great for the youth in our community and surrounding communities. There are a lot of sports to choose from but there is nothing that even compares to hockey. I have learned over the last year that it takes passionate, dedicated people to run a youth organization like FAHA. I would be honored to be part of this organization and do my part to make it better for everyone involved.
I am running for the Treasurer position in the FAHA organization. I would like to give you a little background on myself and experience with FAHA.
I moved to Findlay in 1997 after graduating from The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering. My first real exposure to hockey was in college there in the intramural program. I was invited to play by my roommates and had a great time even though I couldn’t skate worth a darn. I took several hockey classes and figure skating classes to expedite my learning process of the game. It was so much fun but became a blast for me once I learned the hockey stop!
I have been involved with FAHA over the past 9 years as a coach from IP to the squirt level and treasurer. I have completed all the necessary steps through the USA hockey program for the required certifications to coach at the peewee level. I have setup and planned many practices for the kids as well as filled in when needed for other coaches. I also play in the FMHL (Findlay Men’s Hockey League) for fun and good exercise.
I have always been a part of youth sports from a coaching aspect including basketball, soccer, and hockey. I am also married (Christina) and have three kids – Logan (16), Cami (13), and Kellen (11). I believe I can help FAHA continue to grow and I can continue to support the organization by continuing my role in FAHA as the treasurer.
I am a hockey mom who has been involved in the FAHA youth hockey with my son and daughter for the past 8 years. I have my bachelors and Master’s degrees from the University of Findlay and a current law student at The University of Toledo. I am a high school government teacher at Ohio Virtual Academy as well as the owner of Jolly Dipper and of a property rental company, Eenhoorn Properties.
I spend the majority of my time working and volunteering with my children’s school and activities. I am president of the PTC at St. Michael School, am an orphan adoption advocate warrior for Reece’s Rainbow, a volunteer CASA/GAL for Hancock County Children, and a leader of a Youth Service Group.
As a mom of six amazing kids and a wife of Jason, who has coached FAHA for several years and who loves to cook and clean so I don’t have to, I work tirelessly, often fueling myself with Cheetos, Pepsi, and little sleep, to ensure organizations are able to meet the needs of people from all walks of life. I enjoy volunteering and working to help others. I spend a lot of my time volunteering for FAHA in many different ways such as helping with the organization, working the Winter Freeze tournament, helping with the Try Hockey For Free event, attending board meetings, and working on the FAHA Golf Outing. I would like to be elected to a FAHA board position so I could continue to help guide the organization in a positive, new direction. With my professional and personal experiences, I will be an important asset to the organization.
